The ReHeat o10 is the second generation of 4 variations of the Thermo Weapon family, with its higher-ups the MaxHeat o20 & SunFire o50 next inline. The ReHeat o10's projectile is capable of tracking locked-on targets. This feature is found on all Thermo weapons.
In-Game Description
The big brother of the Thermic o5 supposedly has solar particles from the Weymire System installed within it, giving it slightly increased power. Doubters claim these apparently expensive particles are actually produced very cheaply in the lab, which naturally reduces the weapon's value.
Characteristics
Next in line of the thermal fusion weapons, the ReHeat o10 fires red, tailed spheres about five to six times a second. Like other such weapons, its projectiles fly wildly in different directions until the scanner locks onto a target, in which they will track the target until it hits, or until they have reached their maximum range.
The ReHeat o10's 1900 meter range makes it effective in close- to mid-range fighting. Contrary to what the description of the Thermic o5 implies, the ReHeat o10 is a better starting point for pilots who want to "find out if they can handle these powerful weapons", as the jump in stats between the two models is steeper than between the ReHeat o10 and the MaxHeat o20.
Trivia
- The names of the Thermo weapons refer to some form of heat.
- "Reheat" in aeronautics is a different name for "afterburner", where fuel is added to the exhaust gases of a jet engine to produce more thrust.
- The Reheat o10 looks like a Thermic o5 with it's "fins" outfolded.
