Manual turrets, which are described more in detail by the pages in this category, are operated by the pilot while in flight.

While this method prevents pilots from piloting their ship in the process, sometimes they can find and fire at targets automatic turrets couldn't find as easily. Auto turrets may also fire at any ship deemed as hostile, which may not always be the intended target.

Manual turrets are the only type of turrets available prior to the purchase of the Valkyrie add-on.
