Notes

The Gator Custom is a Most Wanted ship that appeared in the Supernova DLC. After Malon Sentendar is defeated, it will be available to the player in the black market (Loma) system. It will be available at Quineros like all other Most Wanted Ships and Pirate ships once you defeat Sentendar (Nivelian Most Wanted).

Characteristics

This ship is for those who want to be able to fight, trade and mine all with one ship. If the Gator Custom is upgraded and installed with Rhoda Blackholes in each slot, it can have up to 4900t of cargo. In comparison to the Cormorant, the Cormorant can have only 3150t of cargo space with the same set-up, and the Rhino can have 5610t. However, Gator Custom's 4 primary and 2 secondary weapon slots easily make up for the arguably minor losses in cargo space alongside its superior handling.

However, this ship is not the best fighter in the game, failing in terms of rather weak armor and with no turret slot. It can be a decent ship, but only if one sacrifices some equipment slots for armor reinforcements, such as T'yol, as well as for a good shield, a repair bot and a transfusion beam. And while the powerful Bloodstar is much more expensive, it sees much greater use as it only loses out in terms of handling and cargo space, both of which aren't much of an issue in combat and can be compensated for easily.

Trivia

  • The Gator Custom's current name presumably derives from its color scheme reminiscent of a typical Alligator.
    • Its original name, as seen in its concept art, is Headhunter. This is referenced by the Pricedown font "Headhunter" decals on its sides, as well as its description claiming it was formerly owned by a bounty hunter.
  • It looks like a larger Hernstein.
  • It has the least secondary weapon slots of the most wanted ships.
  • This is the largest fighter ship in the game, aside from the Scimitar.
  • It is the only dropship that is able to attach primary weapons.
  • Awkwardly, it is big enough and looks like it could install a turret, yet lacks one.
  • The Gator Custom flown by Malon Sentendar did not appear to emit flames from the engines.
  • Strangely, it is bigger than the Bloodstar yet handles better.
