Borsikov was once the ringleader of the outlaws and prior to that, a commander of the Terran Federation. He also consulted with Vossks.

Borsikov was responsible for the death of Lt. Christine Hammond, an assumed love interest of Keith T. Maxwell. Maxwell had never liked Borsikov, and eventually killed him to avenge Christine's death.

• It is assumed that Vlad was Russian because his name is of Russian origin.
• Interestingly, Vlad's ship, a Zephyr, is armed with an Omega laser even though Zephyrs are not capable of mounting lasers.
