This is the prologue and the first mission of the Base Storyline of Galaxy on Fire 2.

Prologue

The game begins with a cutscene. In the first scene, Keith T. Maxwell is flying into the Dareius Asteroid Field, in search of three hiding criminals. The second scene focuses on the three hiding nearby, waiting to ambush Maxwell once he passes. Maxwell manages to spot them, and the fight begins. Maxwell bests them and prepares to return for his reward, but his hyperdrive malfunctions and he is teleported near Var Hastra's orbit in the Mido system at 3624 A.D. The ship's life support systems are damaged, and Maxwell manages to set a course for the nearest space station before passing out.

Gunant Breh, a Nivelian/Midorian ore trader, found Maxwell's Phantom drifting in space. After skimming over it with his scanner, he takes the ship back to Var Hastra for further investigation. There he reveals to Maxwell how long he has passed, and offers to provide him with sanctuary if he helps with mining some ore. Without any choice, Maxwell begrudgingly accepts.

Tips and Tricks

  • The first part of the mission is an easy battle. You'll be flying a Phantom with two Nirai Charged Pulse Lasers and six Edo missiles. Defensively, the ship features armor plating and a shield.

  • The second part is rather easy as it does not require any action. Of course, if there is any trick to be said, you could try mining Grade A asteroids to fill the hold. There is also the option of bashing into multiple asteroids to gain some progress on the Mason medal and you could get the silver medal on Survivor.

Trivia

  • The prologue occurs in 3598 A.D. while Gunant finds Maxwell 26 years later in 3624 A.D. Maxwell still claims 35 years have passed when he refers to this event later on. It's possible that "3598 A.D." is presumably a typo of "3589 A.D." which is exactly 35 years from 3624 A.D.
