There are two types of lasers: pulsed and continuous beam.
Pulsed lasers are similar to autocannons in that they fire solid projectiles in a linear trajectory, with average damage, range, rate of fire and projectile velocity
Continuous beam lasers employ hitscan mechanics and instantly reach their target at long range, dealing high damage with slow rates of fire.
