Neox Sector
The Neox Sector.
Purgatory on the outskirts of space.
Out here, pirates rage, and crime lords rule.
But to us, they're just another payday.
The Neox Sector is located on the very edge of civilized space, where no laws apply, and Pirates are plentiful. Currently, the sector has 3 sub-sectors, each with very distinct appearances:
- Trim
- Rigant Vortex
- Porros Nebula

Background
The Neox Sector is where Galaxy on Fire 3: Manticore takes place. Before the sector was inhabited, it was an empty dark patch of space until the resource glow (Mhaan-tiq) was discovered, growing within the patch of space. Once the economic potential of glow was discovered, many races including the old governments including the Terran Federation rushed into the Neox Sector to claim the valuable resource. The only race that did not have a large presence there was Nivelian Republic. Unfortunately the growth of wealth in the area also lead to an increase in Pirate activity with various pirating factions such as Indigo Brink and the Gr'garth pirates raiding many civilian vessels.

Post Occupation
Unfortunately most of the systems above were destroyed or damaged. Those that were unaffected had their stations in orbit damaged or destroyed in an event known as The Shattering (also the name of the first act of story missions in the main game). This was when a planet in the Porros system erupted destroying many ships and stations within it blast radius. This left the Neox Sector much vulnerable for Pirate raids.
