Core
Description
Asteroids are divided into different classes, which are visible after scanning. The classes are A, B, C and D. Ore cores are only found in the Class A variety and are the precious essence of asteroids. The asteroids decrease in mineable ore as one goes from A to D.
Asteroid Cores
Asteroid cores are the most profitable products of asteroids (specifically, Class A asteroids). Every Class A asteroid contains a core, and the Void System's unique Class A asteroids contain a core called Void Essence which fetches a very high price in shops. Titanium cores can often be found outside the S'porrk system in the Ni'mrrod (Vossk) system.
Cores are very difficult to mine without Gunant's Drill or the K'yuul, and players without any of the two drills can find it hard to achieve the Adv. Geologist or Adv. Miner medals. An easy way to find which asteroids have cores would be to buy a Hiroto Ultrascan. While the scanner may be expensive it is the only scanner on the market that will tell you which asteroids have cores in them without scanning every asteroid in orbit - Just get to work and you'll be good to go.

The following cores are not used in any blueprints: Sodil Core, Pyresium Core, & Hypanium Core.
Notes
- If your cargo hold fills up while mining a Class A asteroid and you manage to mine the core, you will lose 1 ton of the ore you mined and the core will be obtained as usual.
- If you can't find a core that you need but you have the ore, you can bring it to the Mido Mining Plant in Coromesk, Skavac system, and turn 30t (100t for Extreme) of ore into a core of the same type. This is usually for Blueprint Purposes.
- In non-Extreme difficulties, all types of Core (except for Void Essence and Novanium Core) can be bought at P'arrenkk Station in the Y'mirr System.
