All Auto Cannons share high firing rates at the cost of projectile damage. Their recoil can cause a bit of projectile spread.
In real life, auto cannons are slow-firing machine guns that shoots small high-explosive rounds. In the game, they act more like machine guns and the projectiles do not explode upon hitting a target, most Auto-Cannon weapons look like gatling guns but they do not actually have the firing rate of a real life M134, with some exceptions like the Mass Driver MD 10.
