Thank you for your kind word, it was quite difficult to get some traction going when you just started on extreme, my advice would be to do transport (people/cargo) missions to build up a budget and have a tractor beam, so you can get the loot during faction wars, generally avoid direct combat with a opposition of large than 5. Other than that, I'm sure you will do fine, the lack of resouces can get on your nerves a bit, but just be patient. And happy hunting.
