In my opinion every weapon is better with the overdrive, because of its faster fire rate, despite the -10% damage still does lots of damage really quickly.

Pretty much any weapon except beam lasers (esp. the M6A4 "Racoon"); they donlt really need mods due to their awesome damage output (and that they have reduced CD if the hit connects, and that the unmodded Racoon can take down just about any base ship with one four-gun salvo). That said, I don;t use any mods at all, I think I'm just too used to the unmodified weapons,
