I being an Indian, I know that in english it is pronounced Garuda[with that a].but actually in hindi mythology it is pronounced Garud[without the a]. Rather nearly all names in hindi mythology end with an 'a' but actually that 'a' isnt pronounced.

Note- I am not the one who wrote above about Garuda being a legendary bird. Thanks to the guy who wrote it and made me remember all this.
