This is in no way aimed at anyone on the wiki, because everyone wants to contribute, but one of the major things that has irked me is the way we have duplicate pages--we have nearly the exact infomration on a regular page and a category page, for example.

Now, I may have mentioned at some point that I would like to be a uniform style of these kinds of pages, but that leads us to our first problem: How should category pages be used? On mother Wikipedia, a category page simply lists off the pages that have been tagged under the category, but I believe the subject matter this wiki covers does not contain enough information to justify having a general topic (for example again, the Berger company) and a category page that contains all pages that are relevant to it (Berger Converge, Berger CrossXT, etc.).

Therefore, I would like to propose that category pages contain the information that a regular article would have, so that:

  • Information is condensed, and an article can be chock full of information
  • Potential stub pages and short articles are removed
  • All of the pretty pictures can come together; the article and the pages that fall under its category can be separated by a gallery

There can be disadvantages to that:

  • There can be too much information. The closest example I can think up of is the ships page. Though I want to see as much information as possible regarding the games, there comes a point.
  • Organizational problems can be an immediate inconvenience.

Anyone serious about improving the GoF Wiki should look into this, and discuss! -=| Thunder | Luigi |=- 06:18, July 18, 2014 (UTC)<ac_metadata title="On Category Pages"> </ac_metadata>
